
Dr. Jorge G. Contreras, DC, CSCS, CES, PES
Dr. Contreras received his Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, CA where he received the prestigious Virgil Strang Philosophy award. In addition to his education at Palmer West in traditional chiropractic methods, his specialties include Active Release Technique (Spine), Functional Movement Screening (FMS), Instrument assisted soft tissue massage (Graston), Extremity adjusting, and Gonstead. He is a Corrective Exercise Specialist, and a Performance Enhancement Specialist through The National Academy of Sports Medicine, trained in detailed biomechanical analysis, functional rehab exercise prescription, and athletic performance.
Prior to receiving his Doctorate, Dr. Contreras received his bachelor’s degree from The University of California Santa Barbara in Biopsychology as well as a double minor in Exercise and Health Science, and Fitness Instruction. Dr. Contreras is a Master level fitness trainer, and has had the privilege of working with athletes of all ages and levels from youth, to elderly, beginners to Olympic athletes over the last ten years.
Dr. Contreras played four years of division one rugby for UCSB, and was selected to Mexico’s national team after graduation. He went on to play men’s division one rugby for the San Jose Seahawks and later for Google’s rugby team. He now enjoys playing soccer, powerlifting, wakeboarding, and mountain biking with his dog.
